- Our Hautapu site is in the heart of the Waikato and has been a leader in dairy manufacturing for more than 130 years. It’s our headquarters for our protein and cheese technical teams and specialises in producing high value products such as casein, whey protein concentrate, hydrolysate, lactoferrin and milk protein concentrate as well as a wide range of cheeses including Organic, Colby, Edam, Gouda, Noble and Egmont.**About the opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga**
- Join our multi-functional Environmental team as an Environmental Operator and play a key part in ensuring Fonterra maintains compliance and performance to our environmental standards.Day to day you’ll be operating and monitoring the wastewater plant to ensure compliance and optimum performance in our wastewater, stormwater and sewerage systems. You will be key in operating these plants in a compliant, sustainable and practical manner with a continuous improvement mindset. There’s plenty of variety to utilise your problem-solving skills including loss monitoring, river and bore water sampling, data entry and reporting.This is a Rostered Days position with an on-call element.**About you | Mōu**
- This is a crucial role for the success of our site production so you’ll need to be an excellent communicator and someone who can build relationships with a wide range of teams and stakeholders, both internally and externally. As a member of our team, you will also play a role in mentoring and coaching others to deliver strong team engagement.You will be adaptable, willing to learn and can remain calm under pressure.We want to hear from you if you have:
- Proven skills, knowledge and experience operating, maintaining and improving wastewater treatment plant and equipment
- Undertaking wastewater sampling and testing including basic Laboratory tasks
- A National certificate in Wastewater Treatment (Level 4) or if you are working towards this qualification
- Mechanical aptitude and great problem-solving skills
- Proactive and can-do attitude to get stuck in
- Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to complete data entry and reporting
- Previous experience in SAP would be beneficial
- Full clean NZ driver’s license
