New Zealand Police are offering a rare and exciting opportunity for either constabulary or police employee staff to join the Police Prosecution Service (PPS) as a District Prosecution Manager (DPM) in the Southern region, based at Dunedin.
As a DPM you will lead a diverse group of Constabulary prosecutors, Police Employee lawyers, and support staff. You will be responsible for the daily administrative and management requirements of your team; but more than this you will have the opportunity to lead our people and ‘our business’. You will deliver national strategy through operationalising tactics, deploy resources, manage risk, and be accountable for your team's performance.
You will interact with internal Police employees at multiple levels - from members of the senior leadership team, such as District and Area Commanders, through to operational investigators and support staff. You will also form part of a wider management team within the PPS linking your team to Prevention, Response, and Investigative staff within the District, and to PPS National Office.
As a DPM you will interact with justice sector stakeholders and represent the Police position on matters under discussion. The ability to communicate with tact, knowledge, and authority, and to present a logical and evidence-based perspective is critical.
