**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

Due to an internal movement, we have a vacant position for a Charge Midwife for Tamaki Ward.

Tamaki is an antenatal and postnatal ward of 30 beds, primarily providing postnatal care to whanau with low risk
- medical following normal birth and caesarean section as well as working with a multidisciplinary team caring for whanau with social complexities.

As the Charge Midwife, you will also have a passion for primary birthing and be the go-to person for advice and support.
- You will work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- You will be a role model with strong leadership skills and flexibility; this combined with optimum use of resources will ensure the provision of efficient, effective and quality healthcare.
- You also participate in staff and own professional development whilst providing advice and assistance on clinical and training midwifery issues

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

We are looking for:

- An enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic midwife with expert clinical skills to join our team of charge midwives.
- Significant experience in pregnancy assessment, primary birthing and postnatal care, with a commitment to achieving Baby Friendly Hospital status is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to innovate and motivate others, within a changing environment.
- Post-graduate education preferred
