Project Engineer

**Job purpose**
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, you will work as part of a team managing the engineering design, budget, tendering, construction, and commissioning for a variety of projects. This includes new plant equipment into existing production lines to increase safety, capability, capacity, and quality. You will also perform an important role providing engineering support to other departments.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Support and at times lead thorough installation and commissioning of equipment.
- Ensure new processes waste is minimized and outputs optimised.
- Support project managers with work progress and performance to keep goals on track.
- Supporting new product ideas, ingredients, formulas, and processing.
- Ensure good quality of work from suppliers for project completion and handover.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and Addiction EH&S standards.
- Provides status reports to the leadership team.
- Manages the handover process to Manufacturing in a timely manner.
**Qualifications and Key Skills**
- Experience and hold a relevant qualification with an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or similar.
- Experience in being part of delivering technically challenging engineering projects, particularly involving mechanical, structural and process elements and including on-site supervision and management of onsite activities.
- Excellent oral communication and written skills.
- Skills in identifying and initiating improvement in the production process including the ability to investigate, optimise and troubleshoot.
- Computing skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and proficient with AutoCAD.
- Food manufacturing experience including fresh meat/ seafood products/ food products materials handling.
- A good understanding of the principals of other engineering disciplines e.g. civil, structural and electrical.
