**Payroll Officer**

**Te Haeata/The Opportunity**

Come and join our committed and fun payroll team. The main responsibility is to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time each fortnight, for both the Ministry and Judiciary. You will look after a portfolio and manage employee changes from processing new employees right through to final pays and queries, in an efficient and professional manner. You will be supported by a Senior Payroll Officer who will assist in development and growth of your role during your time with us.

**Ō** pūkenga/Skills and Experience**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Payroll experience, or a willingness to develop and grow in this space
- Previous experience with SAP Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll would be an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters
- Good communicator both written and verbal
- Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks across the Ministry
- Confident experience with MS Office, especially Outlook and Excel

The payroll team is part of Finance, and you will work closely with our people and experience team. Finance leads the design, development and delivery of effective financial strategies, policies, systems and management aligned to the Ministry's strategic direction. The team enables the Ministry to meet its financial reporting and taxation requirements, provide payroll, employee data, and financial transaction processing.

**Utu ā-tau/**Salary**

The appointing salary for this role will be between $58,729 and $80,794 based on skills and experience.
