Foodstuffs South Island retail across brands including New World, PAK'nSAVE, Four Square, Raeward Fresh, On The Spot convenience stores, Henry's Beer Wines & Spirits and subsidiary foodservice company Trent’s Wholesale Ltd.

**The Role**
Reporting to the Head of Merchandise Commercial, you will be responsible for building out a new approach to the Foodstuffs South Island retail buying framework, in partnership with the wider senior leadership team. You will also work closely with our Category team to review all negotiations across the Foodstuffs South Island retail brands to ensure commercial success. As the key negotiator for buying within Foodstuffs South Island you will lead the drive to identify new partnership opportunities, secure the best products for the co-operative and make strategic decisions from analysing buying data across the group.

**Skills and Experience**
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate a strong track record of successful and professional negotiations in a fast paced, high-volume environment. Your flexible and entrepreneurial mindset will enable you to be creative in your negotiation style and your approach to designing the buying framework, whilst your commercial acumen will deliver results for Foodstuffs South Island and its members. You will be customer centric in your approach to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be passionate about making a difference to the broader Foodstuffs South Island community.
