**About the role**

Connetics services the electricity network in all phases of asset lifecycle, from design through to maintenance and we encourage our Designers to have hands on interaction at all stages of the project. We have a reputation for developing innovative design solutions and with a pipeline of exciting projects ahead, we are looking for an individual who wants to come along on this exciting journey with us

To date the Green Grids Team has been involved in rooftop and grid-scale solar, industrial decarbonization, electrification and asset management planning and we are looking for someone with vision and drive to grow this scope of service. This role is a mix of leadership and engineering design (35/65%) so the successful applicant should ideally be at Senior Design Engineer level (or above) to lead the way in providing top quality design solutions.

This role will see you developing the fast-paced and dynamic Green Grids Design discipline within the wider Design and Engineering Team, delivering exciting, innovative and highly valued projects. **The Green Grids Team Leader is a pivotal role in the Green Grids Team, providing**:

- People leadership skills while creating scope for growth and mentoring to all levels of designers
- Managing allocation of workload and assisting with workflow delegation depending on skills and resources
- Planning and coordinating customer projects for timing, staging, budget requirements and future developments
- Developing Green Grids design solutions for both renewal and new construction projects
- Occasionally assisting in the Substations design space as required
- Producing design reports, equipment specifications and installation specifications
- Undertaking business development, estimating and scoping new work
- Ensuring projects meet safety regulations and relevant standards, in addition to regularly undertaking Safety in Design Reviews

**Skills /Experience**

**Essential**:

- Experience in leading people and managing workflows
- Demonstrable experience in project management oversight for multifaceted projects
- Senior or Principal Engineer level knowledge of electrical systems and design
- Level 7 engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Comprehensive understanding of standards and New Zealand best practice
- Evidence of delivering successful projects on time and in budget
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A current and valid Driver’s Licence
- Eligible to work in NZ

**Desirable**:

- Skills and/or familiarity in CAD software such as AutoCAD
- Current professional registration with a widely recognized industry body such as Engineering NZ
- Experience within any New Zealand Electricity Distribution Business
