**The Service**:
ISS provides a service to clients with High and Complex needs i.e. Intellectual Disability with forensic background and/or mental illness. This service provides individualised support to develop client life skills that will improve their quality of life, through day programmes built and facilitated within the service and its Support Workers.

We work in partnership with residential services to provide an all-encompassing array of supportive services to facilitate the client on their pathway to rehabilitation.

**Role**:
The purpose of a Senior Support Worker in ISS, is to incorporate the service deliver model, using best practice, systems, and processes for the purpose of assisting service user’s growth and development.

Reporting to the Team Manager of ISS, the successful applicant will be required to lead staff in supporting clients in accordance with Ember’s Policy and Procedures, Intensive Support Service Specific Policy and Procedures, and the specific Risk Management and Service Plan of the client.

The successful applicant will provide behaviour support and interventions while assisting clients to meet their goals set out in their Care and Rehabilitation Plan (CARP). This will include encouraging and promoting client independence in a cultural, social, and economic environment to meet their individual aspirations.

This role will require planning and co-ordination of a number of varied and responsive programmes / supports that meet the needs of service users. Identification of these needs will come from having a thorough understanding of each client’s individual needs and risk assessment. This will translate to best practice in effective needs assessment, innovative ideas, client focused service co-ordination and culminate in timely provision of support services.

The role will also require coordinating and providing coaching and mentoring for staff including elements of both clinical and operational leadership of the Otahuhu site. The ability to network, build and maintain effective relationships with other mental health, disability service providers, funding providers & referrers is an essential element of this role.

**You will**:

- Have/Working towards a National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or equivalent.
- Hold a Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Have leadership qualities and management experience to excel in this role
- Have a valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship
- Have experience working with intellectual disability and complex behaviours.
- Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate, adapt to and engage a wide spectrum of people with diverse backgrounds, ages and cultures.
- Have a passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery.
