We are seeking two energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated leaders to work with the Team Leader who is based off site to manage the day-to-day operations of the library and its services. The Associate Team Leader will model excellent customer service delivery and demonstrate a commitment to continuous service improvement and staff development.

You will have professional knowledge of the library and information sector and will be able to motivate and encourage team members to develop their potential. You will be comfortable taking initiative and responsibility while using your problem-solving abilities to manage multiple demands. You will need to be resilient, highly productive, possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.

The libraries are a busy learning environment which require the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and keep up to date with our services, collections, events, and facilities.

As the Associate Team Leader you will:

- Have responsibility for day-to-day operations and services.
- Coordinate staffing to run the library across a six-day week.
- Build a culture of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga in the team and with customers.
- Develop and maintain connections with local community organisations and institutions.
- Coach team members to develop their skills and nurture their careers.
- Look after the facility in co-operation with teams across the wider Council.
- Participate in city-wide library and Council projects.

We are seeking a people-person with high energy who will commit to our teams and our role in the community. If you have what it takes to maintain, develop, and enhance the service that these libraries are already providing to their community then we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications and experience required:

- Level 6 library qualification with 3 years relevant experience
- Level 5 library qualification and 5 years relevant experience

Redwood Library: Te Kete Wānanga o Te Kōpare o Iho is a small but busy community library in the northwest of Christchurch. It has a strong community presence, established relationships with local groups and offers a range of programmes. It is managed by a team leader based at Te Kete Wānanga o Papanui / Papanui Library.

Spreydon Library: Te Kete Wānanga o Ōpāwaho** **is a small but busy community library with a wide ranging customer base. It offers a broad range of programmes and services to its diverse community. It has a loyal customer base but there are also lots of young families that visit Spreydon Library and Barrington Mall.

**_ Additional Recruitment Information:_**

**_ Hours: 2 x full-time, permanent positions working between 8.30am-6.00pm weekdays. You may be required to work some Saturdays during the year_**

**_ Salary: $73,560 - $87,182_**

**_ Locations: 1 x position based at Redwood Library, 339 Main North Rd. 1 x position based at Spreydon Library, 226 Barrington St_**
