Middlemore is the largest hospital operated by Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand. We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau - the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato.

We also provide niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers in orthopaedic and plastic surgery, burns, spinal injury rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care.

Middlemore Hospital is the main hub for acute care and referral services within Counties Manukau District. It is an accredited, teaching hospital of Auckland University and University of Otago and caters for most medical and surgical specialties with a catchment area of around 600,000 people.

- **_We are looking for applicants who have a predominant Obstetric interest who wish to join and work in the busiest maternity unit in New Zealand with diverse multi-ethnic and areas of high need population. The unit works with a large multi-specialty Obstetric medicine team and MFM team looking after 7000+ women per annum. We are happy to support applicants who wish to further develop their skills in Maternal medicine / obstetric medicine / MFM._**
- **_The unit is accredited as a RANZCOG training site which adds to the enjoyment of working here with trainees across the continuum of their training._**

**You are required to hold or be eligible for vocational registration within this scope of practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand.**

**_ Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills:_**

You should be either registered or be eligible for vocational registration within the scope of General Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Current Annual Practising Certificate with the NZMC or the ability to be awarded one.
