The unit works with a large multi-specialty Obstetric medicine team and MFM team looking after 7000+ women per annum. Middlemore is the largest hospital operated by Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand. We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau - the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato.

We also provide niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers in orthopaedic and plastic surgery, burns, spinal injury rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care.

Middlemore Hospital is the main hub for acute care and referral services within Counties Manukau District. It is an accredited, teaching hospital of Auckland University and University of Otago and caters for most medical and surgical specialties with a catchment area of around 600,000 people.

**You are required to hold or be eligible for vocational registration within this scope of practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand.**

**_ Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills:_**

You should be either registered or be eligible for vocational registration within the scope of General Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Current Annual Practising Certificate with the NZMC or the ability to be awarded one.
