Position: Bookkeeper
Location: Christchurch
Type: Permanent/ Full Time
- Maintaining Financial Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date financial records, both manually and using computerized systems.
- Account Management: Maintain and balance accounts, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded.
- Cash Flow Monitoring: Track cash flow and manage lines of credit to ensure financial stability.
- Financial Statements & Reports: Prepare and produce financial statements, budget reports, and expenditure analyses using accounting books, ledgers, and accounting software.
- Invoice and Purchase Order Management: Prepare invoices, purchase orders, and bank deposits.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts with monthly bank statements to ensure accuracy.
- Transaction Verification: Verify recorded transactions and report any irregularities or discrepancies to management.
- Tax Reporting: May assist in preparing forms related to business tax entitlements and obligations, including goods and services tax (GST) payments and collections.
**Requirements**:
- Level 4 qualification, or at least two years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related accounting role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
