**Taitara Mahi - Strategic Policy & Evaluations Advisor**

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Project and Partnerships Team in Strategy and Development as a Strategic Policy & Evaluations Advisor, a team of accomplished professionals known for their innovation, progressive leadership, and ability to deliver.

The purpose of this position is to provide dedicated and specialist strategy and policy advice services to the wider organisation, with a specific focus on keeping abreast of key change/ transition signals relevant to local government, what impact these could have on Council and our community and supporting the development of strategies and policies which may include the Long Term Plan and Annual Plan.

In addition to this you will also be responsible for developing and managing wider programs to support the Council’s Long-term strategic direction which have an economic, environmental, social and cultural focus. These focus areas may include the economic powerhouse, homes for our people, getting around, rural living, our natural treasures, Hastings alive, pathways for people and enhancing where we live.

**Ōu wheako -about you,**

We need a relationship manager guru, one that will role model Council values to achieve strong, co-ordinated and productive strategic partnerships and reciprocal relationships with your many partners and stakeholders.

You will be politically astute, always exercise sound judgement and demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical evaluation skills. You will have a tertiary qualification in either Strategic Planning, Public Policy, Policy Analysis, Social Science, Economics, Business Studies (or equivalent experience within these fields). A working understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and Te Aranga Māori Design Principles and most importantly you will have a cracking personality, who takes self-care seriously, loves being part of top team and has a genuine passion for what you do.
