We are on a growth journey towards renewable energy and expanding our business in several directions. The Future Energy team will be focussed on the delivery of design, engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance services for renewable energy generation projects across New Zealand. The team will work collaboratively across the Northpower business and with the client to efficiently deliver projects.

**The Role**
This newly created role involves close collaboration with field staff and various stakeholders including our project director, specialist managers, engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers. This is a pivotal role and central to the success of our business and projects.

Reporting to the National Manager
- Future Energy, as the Construction Manager you will lead the on-site construction works in person while working actively within the wider team to develop, improve, and reinvent where required, the systems and processes related to the construction function of the business taking responsibility for the field delivery of projects that meet and preferably exceed our targets. You will also be accountable for:
- Ensuring consistency across all stages of a project lifecycle within the Project team and maintaining continuous development
- Managing and directing the workload of the staff according to priorities and their capabilities or competencies whilst providing hands-on support when required
- Be an open communicator, effective listener, responding appropriately to team needs and ensuring they are adequately resourced
- Co-ordinating interfaces between different areas of work, manage site tasks and forecast requirements and poor workstream interaction

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have prior experience managing a fast moving worksite with multiple interfaces and come from a commercial or civil background with experience in the utilities or large scale horticulture/agriculture industry. It is essential that you have proven project management knowledge and will focus on quality and efficiency outcomes. You will be a compassionate people leader managing great relations, be self-motivated and a constant driver in improving business performance. You will also demonstrate:

- Proven leadership, mentoring, coaching and development skills
- Knowledge of the renewable energy industry
- Ability to read, understand and ensure specifications and requirements are fully implemented
- Being an effective listener and build trusting, friendly relations with field staff
- Sound financial knowledge to prepare and submit Financial Reports
- Exceptional collaborative skills managing diverse stakeholders (including suppliers and sub-contractors) in a multi-cultural environment
- Excellent communication skills ( Written and Verbal )
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Procore being highly advantageous
- An absolute commitment to Health & Safety initiatives and practices
- Ability to prioritise and work with tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel as required with a clean Full Class 1 NZ driver’s licence
- Good judgment and sound decision making under pressure
- Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed
