Mott Macdonald has a new opportunity for two established Senior Engineering Geologists to join our team within either Auckland or Wellington. Your focus will be on ANZ projects, but you will also support other offices globally by providing internal support services related to tunnelling, foundations, retaining structures and slopes, and ground model interpretations on civil infrastructure projects.
Where required you will manage investigations, prepare specifications and designs, as well as attend client meetings and manage the client interface on progressively larger and more complex projects. We recognise the importance of career development and will ensure that you will be mentored and supported as you develop with us.
In this varied role, your day to day activities will include:

- Working with internal and external clients as a member of the geotechnical team
- Assisting in scoping geotechnical investigations and inspections
- Ground model development and interpretation
- Preparation of reports and specifications
- Site monitoring and reporting
- Advising our internal professionals in our roads, tunnel, aviation, water, power, and structural engineering groups
- Contaminated land sampling, testing and interpretation
- You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
This role suits someone with several years post graduate experience, who is looking to develop alongside a team of high performing geotechnical professionals.
In addition to the above, you will have:

- Experience in ground investigations and ground characterisation
- Experience in geotechnical design and seismic assessments
- Experience in project management, budgets and programme
- Appreciation of engineering risk
- An understanding of commercial risk
- Preparedness to innovate and think differently
- Drive to develop your professional skills and willingness to mentor/support others
- Have, or are working towards chartership
- A clean driver’s licence

You will be working on significant projects that shape the communities in which we live. You will build connections with our local and international experts and bring this knowledge to our clients and to their projects. We adopt a pioneering mindset to meet our challenges head on.
The salary range for the position will be $90,000 to $110,000 NZD per year, with a competitive benefit package on offer.
