NZAPI are seeking a driven and talented Communications Advisor to help to tell the industry’s story and support, protect, and continue to build value for Industry. This includes creating and managing the flow of information from industry to social media, website and other traditional media channels.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the CFO, the Communications Advisor will work collaboratively with media, government agencies and external stakeholders to enhance stakeholder engagement and communication. As a communications specialist, you’ll be skilled in creating and delivering valuable content that reaches target audiences while presenting and developing the NZ apple story. Some key responsibilities will include
- Develop and implement the external communications strategy
- Grow and maintain website and social media platforms
- Engage with external stakeholders and industry members to understand and tell the Industry's story, key challenges and messages
- With the support of a Public Relations agency lead the organisation's strategy around public relations and media engagement by assisting the executive team with press releases, media relationships and media training
- Develop and deliver content that will support the industry and NZAPI’s story
- Actively promote the role and key messages of NZAPI through applicable channels

**About You**

Important to this role:

- Tertiary degree in a relevant field such as communications, business, information management, or equivalent level of relevant experience
- Proven experience in managing external communications across multiple channels including web, social media and print
- Track record of managing and engaging with media and producing effective and timely press releases
