As we continue to progress our transformational journey, we have an exciting opportunity for a Linehaul Optimisation and Planning Manager to join our team at our head office in Otahuhu. The main purpose of this role is to manage the Linehaul network and FTL operation ensuring customer and business needs are met.

**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

You will also be responsible for managing linehaul planners as well as implementation of processes in the business unit to maximise branch utilisation and fleet optimisation to meet customer and company expectations, ensuring driver efficiencies in the cost to serve.

Reporting to the National Linehaul Manager you will:

- Maintaining effective control of the branch Linehaul, FTL dispatch and administration functions, always ensuring cost effective and service driven coverage.
- Managing the linehaul Profit and Loss report and be responsible for capture of all revenue and costs associated with the day-to-day activity.
- Ensuring all unrecoverable cost (empty running etc.) is isolated and processes are put in place to minimise and/or eliminate these costs.
- Strengthening existing and building new relationships with branches, customers, both internal and external and manage customer on a regular basis to assist in providing robust transport solutions.
- Working closely with Branch and transport managers and branch admin to highlight cost saving areas for the branches to focus on through the linehaul utilisation.
- Identifying opportunities to further improve efficiencies of the linehaul network.
- Being Involved in network design and fleet optimisation to maximise kms and on road time of the fleet.
- Working as part of the linehaul team, communicating with team members and developing working relationships with both internal and external customers

To be successful in this role, you will have the following key skills and experience:

- Working experience in a customer service environment
- Transport industry knowledge, experience, and a working understanding of FTL
- At least 5 years minimum frontline customer service management experience.
- Be a recognised professional in Transport and logistics area
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics & Transport Management
