**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Providing transport options for a vibrant, growing city requires high quality assets and services. We are seeking a Procurement Specialist for our Public Transport & Customer Procurement team to work with our internal business units and our external suppliers and partners to help plan, source and manage the services, goods and works that are required to deliver assets and services.

The key purpose of this role is to develop and execute procurement category strategies and plans, deliver successful sourcing outcomes and, enable contract and supplier management to deliver the best possible 'public value' outcomes for AT.

The role will consider the 'whole of life cost' of the goods, services or works being procured, work with a range of stakeholders to be a trusted business partner and position Auckland Transport as 'customer of choice' by its suppliers.

You will develop and execute procurement strategies that:

- Proactively supports Auckland Transport in delivering positive outcomes via its procurement activities.
- Enable achievement of related objectives, outcomes and key deliverables in the AT Enterprise Business Plan.
- Contribute to achievement of specific sustainable procurement objectives and actions.
- Contribute to valuing Te Ao Maori.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Engaging with the business to plan, implement and execute procurement strategies and plans.
- Meeting with suppliers to support the business with effective contract and supplier relationship management.
- Developing tender documentation and leading the business through the sourcing process to successful conclusion of a contract.
- Coordinating the contract management and review process and ensure that it is documented.

**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
- Minimum 5 years in a Procurement, or Commercial related role, including 2 years at an intermediate level.
- Tertiary degree (e.g., BCom, BEng or LLB), or equivalent qualification in a business-related discipline.
- Previous accountability for significant spend with experience across project planning, category management, sourcing, contract and/or supplier relationship management.
- Keen to make a direct contribution to delivering high quality assets and services for Tamaki Makaurau
