We are Waipā Networks - We own and operate the electricity network that delivers power to Cambridge, Te Awamutu and the surrounding Waipā region. We are 100% owned by the Waipā Networks Trust and connects approximately 40,000 customers.

We are currently on the look-out for an Asset Lifecycle Engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Electricity Distribution industry, to join us in a pivotal role, on a permanent full-time basis.

The purpose of this position is to manage the lifecycle activities and renewal programme for Waipā Networks Distribution assets to increase performance as well as maintain the outage management reporting requirements and process.

This is delivered through sound asset management processes, practices, and documentation to ensure the optimal acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal of network assets, as you:

- Successfully implement, continuously improve and regularly update asset deterioration models during all asset management phases:

- Implement and maintain risk-based planning approaches for the asset class
- Identify, evaluate and implement new technology and condition-based risk management initiatives associated with our asset portfolio
- Create and manage asset strategies and lifecycle documentation that is innovative, value adding and drives efficiencies
- Assist with implementing and support the continuous improvement of asset management systems and asset management plan

**What you’ll require**

Ideally, you’ll join us with an Engineering Degree, Electrical or Mechanical is desirable. You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Asset Lifestyle Engineering role within the Electricity Distribution industry, and a passion to keep learning.

**You will also bring**:

- Knowledge of distribution Asset Lifecycle stages and processes
- Experience in analysing network fault information
- Experience in standard and policy development, implementation and roll-out
- Previous experience in asset management is beneficial
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft office product suite
- Proven experience in Asset Engineering & Asset Modelling
- The ability to work under tight time pressures
- The ability to work with large budgets, and volumes of assets
- The ability to partner with consultants and other parts of the business and team such as the field-crew, to ensure asset deployment, maintenance or disposal is achieved on time and to budget
