**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Te Toka Tumai-Auckland National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP). The Programme was launched in December 2020 and now requires an experienced operations manager to plan and maintain the services required to deliver a safe and effective bowel screening programme to the eligible population residing within the Te Toka Tumai -Auckland boundaries.

Bowel screening aims to find cancers early when they can be successfully treated. People who are diagnosed with early-stage bowel cancer and who receive treatment early have a 90% chance of long term survival.

The NBSP is strongly equity focussed and is committed to achieving equity of participation for the priority Maori and Pacific populations. Achieving equity requires culturally competent development and delivery of community awareness raising and communications activities as well as culturally safe services along with the diagnostic component of the screening pathway..

As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Significant experience in management of programme operations within a large, complex organisation
- Experience in change management
- Experience in managing complexity and risk whilst maintaining high standards of performance against programme quality standards
- A track record in management of multiple stakeholders
- Ability to manage conflict
