**Support Worker Team Leader - Canterbury**

We have a full-time, permanent position available at our beautiful Canterbury region for a Support Worker Team Leader role. This role supports our passionate team within the Canterbury area.

**He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga | About the role**

Lead from the front Take charge and inspire your team to deliver exceptional home-based / community healthcare services that exceed expectations. As a Support Worker Team leader, you will be responsible for providing leadership, staff development, recruitment, support to the Advanced Support Workers in the delivery of homecare support within your assigned region, consultation with care coordination and community nurse teams, liaise with the community clinical team and Trainer on their requirement for SW competency assessments, establish a rapport with Tangata and their whanau. Your role will involve implementing service delivery models aligned with our values, ensuring quality assurance, and meeting contractual requirements. You will develop strong relationships with key stakeholders.

You will have life experience, patience, empathy and wisdom to share, with the ability to do so in a way that engages Tangata Whaiora. You will be able to build report with people who have experienced trauma, and you can redirect unhelpful behaviour. Additionally, you will have plenty of resilience. Your initiative and proactive approach will be highly valued in your day-to-day work.

- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strategic thinking
- Interpersonal skills and ability to understand and navigate diverse behaviours and expectations
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Sound judgement with the skills to manage risk and make tough decisions
- Sensitivity to equity issues, people with disabilities, and cultural and social needs
- IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and internet research
