You are a successful **Seafood Manager**, or a highly experienced 2IC from within a large grocery store hungry for a new opportunity and ready for a permanent leadership position.

**What You Will Be Doing**:
Managing a Seafood team of approx 6
- Ensuring defined business and specific department targets as well as operational delivery standards are met
- Enhance the reputation of the business by promoting and encouraging the 'best practice' levels of customer service
- Stocking the serve over, freezers and chillers in the store
- Reinforce and appropriately implement the businesses returns policy in all appropriate transactions.
- Merchandise the department appropriately, as per the best practice manual. Build eye catching displays and ensure the department merchandising standards invite purchases through attention to detail.
- Manage assigned activities, promotions and initiatives within plan, budget and resource deployment delegations.
- Guiding all identified department members through identified training to achieve desired standards of performance.
- Maintain 100% price integrity in the department.
- Have an understanding of health and safety management responsibilities relative to the position, including:

- Ensuring all methods to identify and manage safety hazards are fully adhered to.
- Ensuring regular safety inspections are carried out and that all accidents and incidents are reported and investigated by a trained investigator.
- Provides clear and consistent direction
- Maintain a standard of discipline which reflects in high standards of behaviour and dress as required by the Foodstuffs format and Owner.
- Consistently demonstrates honesty and integrity (in words, decisions and actions) in all of their dealings with customers, staff, suppliers and colleagues)
- Consistently, openly, and fairly addresses difficult issues (e.g. poor performance, conflict, theft)

**Who are we looking for? To be successful in this role you are someone who**:

- Supervisory experience
- Food retail or FMCG experience
- Unit standard 497
- Competent using Microsoft package
- Can communicate well with people from all walks of life
- Good written communication skills, including management reporting
- Mathematic skills for budgeting, forecasting and rostering; and weighing product
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and solving problems
- Confidence with managing the complaints process and conflict resolution
- Persevere with a task and able to calmly manage multiple tasks
- High attention to detail
- Understanding of Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation
- Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role - including heavy lifting up to 20kg, bending, reaching, and standing for up to 8 hours a shift
- Full, clean driver’s licence as there may not be public transport available at the start or end of your shifts.
