About you | Mōhou ake
The Electoral Commision is looking for an International Advisor to join the team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be supporting the provision of electoral assistance programmes to international election bodies and working closely with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). To excel in this role, you will ideally have previous experience in budget management, project support and display a high level of professionalism and cultural awareness.
What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
- Assist with the delivery of electoral assistance programmes and knowledge exchange programmes (KEP)
- Prepare KEP programmes and organise for KEP participants attendance at Commission activities
- Monitoring, evaluating and drafting programme reports on deliverables achieved including work plan variances at the intervals specified in the MoUs
- Providing support services for the team of Technical Advisors
- General liaison with MFAT on day-to-day matters
- Set-up and maintain programme administration processes and systems
- Procuring supplies for other electoral agencies and arranging for their delivery off-shore
- Calculating, processing and tracking financial expenditure for the various programmes
- Supervise day-to-day activities of International Support staff

What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū
- Have strong budget management and project support experience supporting a fast-paced team with continually changing demands
- Be able to organise and plan well to juggle competing demands and tight deadlinesHave good computer skills in MS packages, particularly MS Excel
- Be able to administer financial records and international deployment arrangements
- Have accurate and efficient record keeping skills, with attention to detail
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Be a successful team leader
