National Category Manager

We have a great opportunity for a National Category Manager/Senior Category Manager role.

This role is a Senior management role within our business, and forms part of our Senior Merchandising team. The role heads up the Packaging & Hygiene categories and has 4 direct reports.

You will ensure that the Packaging & Hygiene categories deliver on budget, while ensuring we have the best products available to our customers and meeting our high sustainability standards, ethical sourcing requirements and pricing goals.

Experience in packaging and or hygiene would be looked at favourably as well as more industrial B2B category experience, although retail and or FMCG is still relevant.

**The Role?**
- Lead the Packaging & Hygiene Category team to achieve business targets and goals
- Meet the businesses safety goals, and lead with safety as top of mind
- Support the wider sales team with tender, pricing and product support
- Build on supplier relationships
- Continuously improve overall profit return

Apart from the usual well-developed leadership skills, effective communication skills, attention to detail, analytical understanding, optimism, ability to build relationships and work as part of a broader team, you’ll also need:

- Minimum 5+ years Category Management experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Packaging and or Hygiene product experience is preferred
- Strong relationship builder
- A drive to delivery results with an action orientated mind-set and a can-do attitude
- Be able show examples of NPD development
- International sourcing experience
