**About the position**:
The role of a Kaiāwhina is to assist Kaiako in delivering our Te Ara Reo Māori programme in a proactive, supportive whānau based environment. This role also assists the Kaiako in preparing resources and classrooms, monitoring student attendance, general administration task and student recruitment. This role would suit a Kura Kaupapa graduate, someone looking for part-time mahi, a Kaumatua or Kuia wanting to give back to te reo Māori, or even someone wanting to become a Kaiako one day.

**About you**:
You are passionate about te reo Māori and want to see people succeed in speaking te reo.

You will:

- Have the ability to converse in Te Reo Māori
- Have a thorough knowledge of Tikanga Māori
- Be tech savvy, and digitally competent
- Have at least one year’s experience in a similar role

The ideal applicant will be available to work evenings and some weekends.

Holding a Te Reo Māori qualification, and being able to play the guitar, would be an advantage.
