The Businesses & Education Super Group is responsible for our premium SaaS products, Canva Pro, Enterprise, Teams and Education. We are responsible for building, improving and growing a product that can help our users be more productive, and achieve more with Canva. We have a mission of empowering millions of businesses/teams to grow and we’re making pretty amazing progress
The Revenue Platform Group is deeply rooted within the Businesses & Education Super Group. Owning the strategy and roadmap for enabling everyone, across the planet, to access the paid features of Canva, be this through a subscription or a one off transaction. No two countries are the same, it is our job to understand, evaluate and prioritise what works best and for who. We do everything from building out complex new payment integrations to enabling other Canva groups to achieve their goals and monetise their features.
Our Payments Enablement Teams are responsible for unlocking value opportunities within Canva providing powerful APIs to payments products such as subscriptions, card tokenisation and invoicing that enable Canva teams to monetise quickly, with high reliability and financial correctness along with a beautiful UX.
We’re seeking a Technical Team Lead to lead our team responsible for building our subscription infrastructure and building flexible solutions that allow Canva to offer new subscription models to fit new markets. The team is responsible for implementing and managing subscription products in multiple currencies and payment periods. The team also provides tooling for the business and work with other product stakeholders and our Finops group ensuring we scale efficiently and continually meet the widening requirements, as we localise, across the globe.
**This role can be remote from any location in Australia / New Zealand**
**Role Responsibilities**
- As a team lead, you will coach and mentor 6 people while developing your coaching capability to scale the team and meet the needs of the growing payments services product vision.
- As an experienced backend engineer, you will use your systems domain knowledge and help your team troubleshoot issues and design pragmatic solutions.
- You will evolve the existing platform to enable expansion into new markets and business types with a particular focus on enterprise adoption.
- We have a really aggressive product roadmap so you will need to work closely with the Product Manager to deliver iterative valueYou will develop systems and processes to minimise disruptions and workload for the team.
- Develop and execute technical strategies and roadmaps by overseeing and driving delivery of highly complex projects focused on the delivery of world-class payments infrastructure, and business-facing insights toolsDrive planning and refinement of seasonal goals, ensuring there is alignment between the company, group, and teamsFoster a culture of communication, bridging the communication gap between teams, group, and company leadershipInvest in working with engineers on growth and development opportunities to help further their skill set and grow into new roles, with an ability to deliver relevant and timely feedback (positive & constructive) to help them continuously improve and learnCoordinating and communicating across various specialties and parts of the business to understand the impact and feasibility of strategic goals within the group.
