Senior Underwriter

We are currently looking for an underwriter to join our fantastic underwriting team Bring your life and disability underwriting experience and product knowledge along with an understanding of the wider insurance market.

About the role | He Aha Te Tūranga

This role would suit someone who proactively maintains their underwriting technical knowledge keeping abreast of industry, underwriting, legislative and medical developments and advances.

You will be using your technical expertise to identify and support opportunities to improve underwriting efficiency and effectiveness and underwrite within the Company’s guidelines and approved authorities. You will be working with external advisors and clients, building strong working relationships with both internal and external customers, and your strong communication skills will allow you to easily communicate with and provide advice and guidance to support the wider business

About you | Ko Wai Koe

Enthusiasm is a must in this role along with high levels of professionalism. In addition to this, we are looking for the following skills:

- Recent experience in a life and disability underwriting role
- A good understanding of medical terminology and ability to interpret complex medical information
- Ability to make sound and confident decisions under pressure
- Ability to communicate decisions clearly
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Health insurance underwriting experience would be advantageous
