Then we have a great opportunity here at Te Puni Kōkiri (Ministry of Māori Development) for an Advisor to join our Policy Partnerships Puni (Te Puni Hononga Kaupapa Here).

- bringing together existing data from a range of sources which can tell the story of Māori
- working alongside our policy teams to develop the evidence which can make a difference
- learning about the data and analytics aspirations and challenges for Māori-focused organisations
- Liaising with government agencies and Māori data practitioners on a wide range of interesting data and insights kaupapa

Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
Advisors are responsible for contributing to the development of high-quality advice and research that contributes to "Thriving Whanau". Advisors will work collaboratively in teams within the Policy Partnerships Te Puni to contribute to the development of robust policy analysis and advice.
Ko wai koe | About You
- A degree in a related field or demonstrable experience in public sector analysis
- Strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to build, maintain and enhance strategic relationships within Te Puni Kokiri, Government departments, Māori and other groups
- Understand government processes, systems and tools
- Have conceptual and analytical skills and experience in developing and implementing workable solutions to ambiguous and complex problems
- Have well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and persuade key stakeholders
- Have well developed communication skills, both oral and written, which enhance key stakeholder relationships and which enable complex issues to be explained clearly to a range of audiences, including non-technical experts
- Demonstrable experience working with data and can draw out meaningful insights for a variety of audiences.

Te Puni Kōkiri is the Government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. To do this, we must exert leadership and influence on the public sector system to enable and support the Government to deliver positive wellbeing outcomes for Māori.
