You will be working alongside a dentist and staff who are passionate about maintaining oral and general health, helping people restore their chewing function, conquering dental anxiety, and creating healthy confident smiles. You will be helping the team to change people’s perception about dental care and how they view the importance of teeth. You'll have the chance to positively impact individuals from diverse backgrounds right from the early age to those at the end of their journey.

We are looking for a compassionate individual who wants to commit to developing a career in dental care and is enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of a startup business that will change the way dental care is delivered.

**Your day would involve**:

- Greeting patients and making them feel comfortable
- Infection prevention and control procedures
- Instrument Reprocessing in sterilisation area using the advanced disinfection and sterilisation equipment
- Assisting the dentist with general dental, orthodontics, paediatrics, special needs dentistry, and full mouth rehabilitation treatments
- Maintaining supplies and stock levels
- Transcribing dentist’s dictation for dental charting
- Maintenance of dental equipment and instruments
- Giving post-operative instructions and making follow up courtesy phone calls to patients
- Taking patient enquiries and making appointments if needed

**Required skills**:

- Strict adherence to infection prevention and control procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Observational skills
- Effective problem solving skills

**Useful skills to have**:

- Training and experience in dentistry and dental assisting
- Experience in using dental practice management software (EXACT)
- Microsoft word, excel and computer skills
- Previous experience in healthcare sector
- Customer service experience
- Understanding of the workings of the Ministry of Health (MOH), Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), and Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) systems
