**Sterile Services Technician**

**Southern Cross Gillies Hospital**

Southern Cross’ Gillies Hospital, located in Epsom, has been designed with a focus on short-stay surgery and whanau-centred care, with four theatres, a purpose-built day-stay facility and 20 inpatient beds with ensuite facilities. A centre of expertise for head and neck surgery and otolaryngology (ENT), it offers oral and maxillofacial, gynaecological, plastic and reconstructive and general paediatric surgery, backed up by friendly, highly professional nursing teams and systems designed to benefit patients of all ages.

You will be required to provide, as part of the theatre team, a high standard of sterilising service consisting of the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices. This specifically involves reprocessing contaminated sets of surgical instruments, accessories and other related equipment used within our operating theatres.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Be a team player with excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Good organisation skills
- To be flexible/adaptable and to respond positively to the changing needs of the business
- Undertaking NZSSA Certificate in Sterilisation 4 is expected
