**Position Overview**: The Electrical Engineering Technician will support Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in designing, testing, and implementing electrical installations and systems. The role involves preparing technical drawings, assisting with design layouts, performing tests, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Preparation of Technical Drawings**:

- Create detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry.
- Assist in the design and layout of electrical installations on substations, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.
- **Design and Layout Assistance**:

- Collaborate with Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in designing and laying out electrical installations.
- Provide support in developing electrical circuitry for various systems.
- **Data Collection and Analysis**:

- Collect and analyze data, perform complex calculations, and graph results.
- Prepare charts and tabulations to support electrical design and testing processes.
- **Cost Estimation**:

- Estimate materials costs and quantities required for electrical projects.
- Assist in preparing budgets and project cost analyses.
- **Inspection and Compliance**:

- Inspect designs and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Ensure all electrical installations conform to industry standards and safety requirements.
- **Assembly and Installation**:

- Assemble, install, test, calibrate, modify, and repair electrical equipment and installations.
- Ensure all work is performed according to regulatory and safety requirements.
- **Workshop Functions**:

- Perform electrical workshop functions, including installing assemblies for protection relays, metering, and indicating devices.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining electrical workshops.
- **Research and Experimentation**:

- Assist with research and experimentation programs to develop new electrical technologies and solutions.
- Conduct tests on electrical systems and prepare reports on findings.
- **Support for Electrical Engineers and Technologists**:

- Conduct tests of electrical systems and prepare relevant documentation.
- Assist in estimating costs and materials in support of electrical projects.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in preparing technical drawings and diagrams.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and circuitry.
- Excellent data analysis and complex calculation skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards for electrical installations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
