**About the role**:
Reporting directly to the General Manager People & Capability, the National Health and Safety Manager will contribute and assist in the development and implementation of the HEB health & safety strategy. The role will be committed to the shared vision of an industry-leading health and safety culture at all levels of our business, as well as advising and supporting the executive and senior management team.
This exciting role also focusses on:
- Health and safety strategic planning, including the alignment of the health and safety strategy to the overall culture at HEB
- Managing a team of direct reports
- Championing health and safety, ensuring it is part of everything we do at HEB
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally
- Overseeing health and safety audits, checks and mitigating risk
- Ensuring company compliance with health and safety legislation and industry standards
**About you**:
- A tertiary or post graduate qualification in the health and safety discipline
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior health and safety role
- Experience in leading a team
- A strong understanding of New Zealand health and safety legislation and industry standards
- Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining management systems and strategies
- Commitment to continuous improvement and a safety-first culture
