**Te kāinga rua | The opportunity**

Join one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s’ largest Sustainability Advisory teams, contributing to the provision and delivery of climate change consulting services. You will be working with a passionate team providing sustainability and climate change advice from high-level corporate strategies through to practical implementation across a vast array of projects. In this role, you will have the scope to utilise the vast collective expertise across technical disciplines at Beca, developed over 100+ years, turning ideas into action and offering our clients’ end-to-end solutions like few others can.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a difference to Beca’s clients’ climate change challenges working across New Zealand, Australia and throughout the Pacific. You will also be working across a range and variety of sectors including transport, water, utilities, health, education, ports/marine, as well as central and local government organisations.

**Te rongoā | About you**

This role will enable you to combine your passion for climate change and Aotearoa’s environment with your existing experience and expertise, to solve real world client problems. You will enjoy working with diverse clients to understand their needs and can work collaboratively. You will be motivated and ready to grow your career, building on your knowledge, consulting, and professional skills; and be looking to establish and build enduring relationships with clients. Overall, you will be excited by a challenge, working with ambiguity, in a growth focused business area that offers plenty of flexibility and variety.

In addition, you will be using your effective time management, research nous, client engagement skills and attention to detail which will be important for success in this role. You will have the opportunity to think analytically and work in detail on climate change issues. An ability to listen, question and analyse to provide a considered view and solution will be important and long with the ability to translate complex issues into simple language. Excellent written abilities including external client report writing will be important for success.

For this role, a level of climate change experience and consulting abilities, or from the wider industry or policy agencies, will be important. This role will not suit graduates looking for their first professional consulting role.
- Be credible, comfortable and effective in communicating your knowledge and expertise on climate change
- Self-direction, critically minded problem solving;
- Be adaptable and versatile to the wide range of work, opportunities and projects
- An ability to handle multiple workstreams or projects at the same time;
- Able to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to engage with clients leading to successful pursuit, bidding and winning of project commissions
- Good data management or visualisation skills, e.g. strong MS excel proficiency;
- Good facilitation skills
- Ambitious to develop your career and specialist expertise
- A relevant tertiary qualification across law, business, finance, economics, engineering, statistics, environmental or related disciplines, and/or have demonstrable experience in a similar role.

This role can be Wellington or Auckland based, with flexible working arrangements available.
