**Working as an Emergency Medicine Registrar**

By joining the Auckland region as an Emergency Medicine Registrar, you enter a programme with rotations through world-renowned teaching hospitals: North Shore, Waitakere, Auckland City, Middlemore, and Starship Hospital. All Auckland regional hospitals are located within a 30-kilometre radius of each other. As an Emergency Medicine Trainee, you will also have the opportunity to work in other specialties; Anaesthesia, Medicine, and Intensive Care Medicine this also incudes PICU Come and experience our diverse demographic population and a variety of presentations and pathologies.

**Our training **programme**

We take an interest in your career aspirations and we will guide you in an environment that is enthusiastic and supportive and provide you with ongoing training within all our hospitals in Auckland. As we have full accreditation with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, you will also have the option to fulfill all your training requirements in Auckland. Our regional Emergency Medicine training programme offers structured part 1 and 2 exam preparation. In addition, there are various courses which are recommended as part of ongoing training such as APLS and EMST.

As part of the programme, trainees receive departmental Continuing Medical Education (2 hours a week) and part one or part two College exam preparations (2 hours a week) as protected "off-floor" teaching and frequent on-floor teaching and feedback.
- ** We are looking for doctors who can **start in our region immediately**:

- **To be considered, you need to have completed at least three months in Emergency Medicine runs (Paediatric Emergency Medicine is counted)**:

- **You must be eligible to register for General Scope with the Medical Council of New Zealand**
