What we need?

An exciting and new opportunity has become available for a Linehaul Planner to be part of our Retail Transport team based in Mangere. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager you will be responsible for providing effective linehaul planning for the Despatch Operation. You will be responsible for:

- Rostering vehicles and planning linehaul movements
- Ensuring all transport routes are fully utilized with mínimal empty running
- Fleet is effectively used across the 24hr period
- Vehicle service & maintenance is planned in line with business requirements and the fleet remains legally compliant
- Promoting a high standard of Health & Safety to achieve Vision Zero and ensure all transport activities meet best practice and legal requirements
- Implementing initiatives & operational improvements that ensure cost containment maximise profit and met budget and customer objectives

This role will be rostered on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, based on a 12-hour shift, this position will require the employee to also work at other Auckland Countdown Distribution Centers from time to time.

About you?

You will be a result focused individual with excellent communication skills and can demonstrate the following:

- Previous experience within a Linehaul planning role in the Transport industry
- Planning and organisational skills to ensure timely delivery of outcomes
- Customer focused to ensure service standards are met
- Excellent numerical and planning skills, along with attention to detail
- Ability to negotiate and make sound decisions in a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- Advanced geographical knowledge of New Zealand
- OSH endorsed forklift (F) and Class 5 licence would be an advantage but not necessary
