**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Health Promotion team as a** Chief Advisor **This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).

The primary purpose of the role is to Establish and nurture strong relationships with partners, government and across sectors. Provide Tiritio Waitangi led leadership, analysis and advice on all health promotion initiatives to support goals of Pae Ora.

**Mōu | About you**

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A tertiary qualification, and/or a minimum of eight to ten years' appropriate equivalent experience
- Extensive experience in a senior role as a strategic or policy advisor or other relevant experience providing strategic advice
- Proven experience with strategic planning and implementation, and logic modelling
- Experience of cross cultural issues and concerns, in particular, knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pasifika culture
- Demonstrated mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present in a clear, persuasive, and impactful way, to influence others to embrace change, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes
- You have inclusive leadership and management skills able to maximise the quality and contributions of individuals and teams to drive outcomes
- Significant experience working with senior stakeholders both internally and externally at a national level
- Successfully developed and implemented innovative and sustainable solutions to enterprise wide problems
- Able to motivate and encourage teams in an environment of change, financial prudence and an increasing level of digital maturity across the organisation
