Nga iwi Ngakaunui - people at the heart is demonstrated best in mental health and addictions, people really are at the heart of all that we do. We know how important strong relationships are; with people who access our services, with their whānau and with the communities we serve.

The ACT team provide a 7 day a week service, inclusive of public holidays (08:00 - 16:30hrs) and also provides early evening on-call (Monday to Friday 16:30 - 20:30hrs). The rostering is largely self-rostering, so there is ability to support a work/life balance. The ACT team are a cohesive, responsive team with outside the square thinking. Providing support to Tangata Whaiora who present with complexity that requires an intensive and flexible approach, the ACT team work collaboratively across a number of services to ensure wrap around support that meets Tangata Whaiora and whanau needs

CADS works with tangata whaiora and whanau at the centre of care, utilising a therapeutic, recovery focussed model. We are undergoing an exciting process of change addressing equity for Maori. Upskilling the team in Maori models of care, challenging stigma and moving to a culturally safe service are key components of this.

The Triage team plays a vital role in community Mental Health and Addiction Service and is responsible for triaging all non-urgent referrals to adult mental health service, ensuring they are either referred on to an appropriate community service or are brought into the appropriate Mental health team. Creating strong working relationships across primary, secondary and tertiary levels, alongside a collaborative MDT approach to assessment are key components of this role.

The Central South Sector team provide community based services for individuals aged 18 - 65 years that require specialist mental health support. With service users/tangata whaiora based both locally and rurally, the Central South team work closely with the communities in which people live and support better outcomes.
