The Senior Embedded Systems Engineer is responsible to develop embedded electronic hardware and software systems for the company's product.

**In this role you will**:

- Work directly with product management, R&D manager and the wider product development team to define and implement company controls strategy with a focus on, but not limited to, embedded systems.
- Perform hardware & software engineering duties including, but not limited to problem analysis, solution determination, design and development, integration, test, modification, and documentation.
- Plan and participate in hardware & software systems development from inception to completion, which may include gaining customer acceptance.
- Implement controls for compliance with National and International safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve the way the company products are controlled, and how embedded systems are integrated.
- Provide specialist technical expertise as required to other parts of the business, including but not limited to, Product development, Production, Customer Care, Supply Chain and Sales.
- Assist with the documenting and training of staff, to enable the factory test, warranty support and sales/marketing of the products and technologies developed.
- Provide leadership, peer support and mentoring to members of the R&D team, including but not limited to, junior and lesser experienced Embedded Systems Engineers.
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop a company controls strategy.
- Act as a consultant to company's customer support and sales staff as required.

**To succeed in this role you need**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent; **OR**:

- 5-10 years experience in Embedded Software/firmware development in a commercial environment; **OR**:

- 5-10 years experience in electronic hardware development in a commercial and volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience in development of C/C++ for embedded systems on a range of platforms including bare-metal microcontrollers and embedded operating systems.
- Understanding of a range of communication systems and protocols including Modbus, serial, RF technologies.
- A leader and at the same time a team-player as you will be working with a close knit-team.
