Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
We're currently looking for a talented and dedicated Principal Advisor to join our Finance team in the Wellington National Office. You will contribute to the success of our team through a combination of vision, thought leadership, relationship management and organisational agility.

**Our Finance team works to support Te Puni Kōkiri by**:

- Maintaining the confidence of our senior management team and external stakeholders (Ministers, Treasury, Audit) through sound financial management and reporting
- Leading Te Puni Kōkiri's Budget process
- Maintaining financial guidelines and policies to provide a safe environment for our kaimahi to operate within
- Understanding and delivering on the needs of our stakeholders and building a culture of continuous improvement

Ko wai koe | About you

**To be successful in this role you will need**:

- Strong analytical, strategic and planning skills
- An ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks across and within organisations
- Experience in analysing technical issues and making business decisions with financial impact
- To demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in financial management reporting
- Strong working knowledge of government financial management legislation, policies and practices
- Experience in a similar role and environment would be advantageous
