We work with a network of 32 General Practice Teams across the Manawatu, Ōtaki, Horowhenua and Tararua districts to service a population of 180,000 people. Together, we are committed to providing responsive primary health care solutions to benefit our population.

**The Role**:
The Learning and Development Lead aims to increase the access and number of learning and development (L&D) opportunities internally (up to 120 clinical and non clinical staff) and across our network. We require a driver to accelerate our educational programmes.

This is a key role with a highly collaborative approach.

It will see you entrenched in mapping career pathways and increasing educational opportunites for clinical and non-clinical staff across the rohe. Additionally, you will contribute to a L&D strategic plan that adds value to the primary health sector - ultimately, we want all our staff and providers to have easy access to as many L&D opportunities as possible. And you will help to make this happen.

Additional areas of focus include (but not limited to):

- Complete a localities-based workforce gap assessment
- Incorporate Treaty of Waitangi principles into education and L&D opportunities
- Prioritise equity training across the rohe
- Reviewing and assisting with the development of clinical programmes to support the Interdisciplinary Knowledge & Skills Framework (IKSF)
- Reviewing and enhancing the Interdisciplinary Professional Education Programme (IPE) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes to include a social wellbeing perspective Drive career development pathways & opportunities for nurses, Practice Managers, healthcare assistants and other evolving roles in the health care team

To be equipped to undertake this role, you will have 3-5 years experience as a L&D Lead or be a highly experienced L&D Facilitator with the proven ability to connect people to a wide range of learning modalities. L&D wil be your passion and you will positively strive to boost a highly skilled workforce.

Your work history will reflect grounded experience and achievements in coordinating and embedding L&D educational requirements across a multi-faceted organisaton. Strong stakeholder engagment is essential as you will be working with a wide range of people - we have Nurses, Allied Health professionals (Dietitians, Clinical Exercise Physiologist) Mental Health Clinicians, Analysts, Health Administrators plus our providers - general practices, Iwi and Maori providers.
