- We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Nurse to join our supportive and vibrant research team in the Cancer & Blood Service. In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of Medical Oncology Research trials. This is a full-time permanent position.
- The Research Nurse coordinator will have their own trial caseload and be accountable for the care of patients on these studies. This will include more complex trials in the Phase 1Unit (Auckland Cancer Trials Centre) You will be working in Medical Oncology setting and will be responsible for recruiting and looking after patients on trials working with various Principal Investigators.
- You will interact with study participants and their families, investigating clinicians, clinical trial coordinators, Cancer & Blood Research department staff, pharmacy and laboratory colleagues, and sponsoring groups involved in the study.

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
- Conducts all study activities in accordance with the protocol, IRB regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Coordinates and organises patient care including recruitment screening scheduling consenting conducting visits and collecting various assessments such as adverse event (AE) information and questionnaires
- Performs the informed consent process following GCP.
- Assists with the life cycle of the clinical trial from study start-up through trial maintenance to study closure.
- Follows the patient from referral through treatment, discharge, and follow-up while providing patient and family education.
- Maintains clinical records and documentation.
- Performs routine and complex clinical procedures as required by the protocol.

- Employs strategies to maintain recruitment and retention rates.
- Assists with correcting findings and queries.
- Assists with the management of investigational products (IP) as needed.
- Assists with the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data quality assurance.
- Assists with study budgets as needed.
- Participates in study meetings and conference calls.
- Coordinates scheduling for participant visits among Principal Investigator (Pl), pharmacy, or others as needed.
- Coordination/ management of research nursing team.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Senior Research Nurse/Speciality Clinical Nurse -Research
- Medical Oncology experience
- Team management experience preferable
- Ability to communicate with people from widely different backgrounds and cultures
- Methodical, well organised with meticulous attention to detail
- Able to work autonomously whilst integrating with the multidisciplinary team
- Self-starter who can manage your time effectively and who has a commitment to quality outcomes
