Auckland City, New Zealand University of Auckland Full time

**Job Description**:
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We seek a **Research DevOps Support Engineer **to join New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI), hosted by the University of Auckland. This new position is essential in contributing technical expertise and support, operating as a partner to research software engineers and DevOps engineers and their teams as they build research tools, products, and platforms. The Research DevOps Support Engineer connects with research teams across Aotearoa, offering guidance and advice, and helping them optimise their deployments’ availability, security, and effectiveness.

This is a rare opportunity to help shape and design NeSI’s newest cutting-edge “Flexible HPC” advanced research computing & data platform. As a platform owned and operated within Aotearoa New Zealand’s research sector and institutions, you’ll join a talented team working to merge technology with the important considerations of cultures and interests that operate well beyond infrastructure. You’ll value empathetic focus on end user communities, and be humble in supporting aspirations of a wide range of partners, including those emerging within a te ao Māori setting.

For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description.

Please note, this is a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent opportunity, with a salary range of $90,000-$100,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**

New Zealand eScience Infrastructure (NeSI) is a collaboration of four institutions, including Waipapa Taumata Rau the University of Auckland, working in partnership with the NZ Government, providing High Performance Computing (HPC), analytics and consultancy services to the NZ research sector, Government agencies and Industrial research. Our primary aim is to grow the computing and analytics capability of researchers to ensure Aotearoa New Zealand’s future prosperity.

NeSI values diversity and inclusion across our teams, in our workspaces, with our partners and users. We are committed to developing partnerships and opportunities for Māori within the research sector, and realising a broader range of benefit sharing in ways which support Māori aspirations.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

Additionally, you will be comfortable handling escalated service requests and incidents, and managing change always while maintaining a user-centred perspective.
