Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

Lead a new Engagement team
- Drive initiatives that promote the Ministry's objectives, vision and values
- Help the Ministry engage with key stakeholders across New Zealand

This is a full-time permanent role based in central Wellington

**About the Ministry for Regulation**:
The Ministry for Regulation is a newly established small government agency with a big job to do. We are a small group of dedicated professionals, working in a 'can do' environment.

The New Zealand government uses regulation to protect communities from harm, and to improve outcomes for its people. Our job is to help improve the overall quality of regulation - and the way it is implemented - by working across the public service with experts in their fields.

**About the Role**:
The Head of Engagement is a member of the Organisational Enablement Leadership Team. You will lead a small Engagement team who operate across a wide scope of engagement and communications activities, including stakeholder engagement, channels, media and internal communications.

You'll be operating within a complex and dynamic environment that requires the capacity to exercise flexibility and agility, juggle multiple tasks and develop and maintain effective relationships.

You'll work closely with our Senior Leadership Team, providing strategic engagement advice and identifying risks and opportunities for communication and engagement approaches.

- Has extensive experience in creating communication and engagement strategies for diverse audiences
- Is skilled in navigating complex, politically sensitive environments with a strong grasp of government operations
- Has excellent knowledge of digital strategies and social media platforms
- Has a willingness to roll their sleeves up and help across all engagement activities when needed

**What we can offer you**:
