We are looking for an individual with a good balance of soft skills and an understanding of the business-as-usual (BAU) activities in Insights & Statistics relating to the output of data, who will fit well within the context of a project and is a good team player.

Te tūnga | The role
In your role as Senior Design Analyst you will report to the Manager - Statistical Change and Assurance. The focus of your role will be to contribute to the Customer Data Tools Project (CDTP).
CDTP will extend and improve the NZ.Stat solution being delivered during Phase 1 and will migrate InfoShare and TSM (Time Series Manager) to new technology. This will result in increased customer value, business process efficiency and technology process efficiency through improved data quality, pipelines, taxonomy, and governance.
The role will actively particate in the project's Agile Scrum ceremonies and contribute to a broad range of system development activities. This includes working with other team members to develop and write requirements and user stories, and in the design of business processes and system design. Once these have been developed, this role with contribute to system testing and acceptance testing, assisting the test team to develop test cases and to execute these test cases. As the solutions are deployed, engagement with internal and external customers will be required so that the project can ensure a good change experience for those people that are affected by the change.

- Knowledge and experience, or willingness to learn about Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Māori.
- Demonstrating a broad understanding of how Stats NZ operates, particularly with respect to Subject Matter Areas (SMAs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Knowledge of Stats NZ's data tools such as NZ.Stat, Time Series Manager (TSM), and Infoshare.
- Knowledge of business processes that sit immediately prior to the dissemination of data.
- Demonstrating an understanding of the customers that use data produced by Stats NZ.
- Familiarity with the principles and processes of project management, and problem-solving capability.
- Examples of key relationships you've built and how and why relationships are important.
- Where you have demonstrated technical and/or domain leadership, e.g., demonstrated problem solving, owned a piece of work or project.
- Ability to work in ambiguity and to resolve ambiguity.
- Ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate.
