**MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST**
**THE ROLE**:
The purpose of this role is to produce the best video and online motoring content to keep Kiwi car readers in the know. We’ll help inform and entertain them with editorial news and video-led reviews from NZ and around the world, working on New Zealand’s most diverse motoring medium, DRIVEN.
Our audience is diverse, encompassing first-time drivers, auto buffs, families, city commuters, farmers and tradies. We cover a range of content tailored to all, as news of the time and topics often dictate.
As a key motoring editorial role, this position will be an integral part of the DRIVEN writing and reviewing team across digital and print, with a specific focus on the production and handling of all DRIVEN’s video aspects, from reviews, comparisons, location shoots, to social media and DRIVEN’s weekly motoring vidcast. This video role includes aspects from concept and scripting, to filming, editing and music selection, along with support from NZME’s video editors. The role also includes supporting and stand-alone vehicle photography.
Supported by a team of experienced and award-winning motoring experts, you’ll have plenty of support and motoring enthusiasm and knowledge, as much a personal passion as a job.
The role is vast and diverse, and the right applicant will have a general comfort in being familiar with and learning new operating systems, analysing data and presenting reports. Knowledge of SEO is advantageous.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
You'll be responsible for entertaining and informing kiwi car owners. You’ll deliver growth in overall audience numbers, in particular the video content and audience and vehicle reviews, and their promotion across multiple channels. You will achieve this by creating engaging features, integration of news and compelling stories, sourcing content, strategising with the editor, monitoring story performance, analysing the best times of day to publish content and through relentless focus on continuous improvement. Plus general adhoc work with the editorial team as one of its key members.
