**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
Premium content is at the forefront of NZME’s journalism strategy, and we’re looking for a new team member to join us on the journey.
The Premium Lifestyle team have a crucial role to play in driving audiences across NZME’s award-winning news brands. Our journalists have instincts and a keen eye for what makes a great story - if you’re a qualified journalist who is passionate about all things lifestyle, come and join us.
As our Lifestyle Multimedia Journalist, Premium, you will produce engaging lifestyle content including fashion, entertainment, home, travel, wellness, food, and much more.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Craft high-quality content, including long-form articles, features and exclusive interviews, EDMs, social posts and videos, to drive audience engagement.
- Use a data-driven approach ro generate compelling content ideas that will resonate with our discerning audience.
- Use your expert organisational skills to help with forward planning and maintaining an up to date content plan.
- Collaborate with teams to get the best lifestyle coverage across the various channels and brands.
- Stay informed about up-to-date lifestyle trends to deliver relevant content to subscribers.
- Deliver stories to multiple deadlines, understanding the time-sensitive nature of news and maintaining editorial standards.
**ABOUT YOU**:
To be successful you’ll need a couple of years of journalism experience, strong news judgement, a recognised journalism qualification and experience in digital content management systems.
You’ll be innovative and passionate about bringing new ideas to the table, be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, with a good understanding of journalism practices.
You’ll also be an avid consumer of lifestyle media, both locally and internationally.
Having strong attention to detail and a discerning eye for language and grammar, and the ability to craft engaging headlines and digital content is an added bonus.
You’ll also bring:
- A relevant qualification in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
- At least 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with experience in lifestyle journalism.
- Strong research, writing, interviewing, editing, proofreading abilities.
- A solid network of industry contacts and be comfortable dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail, maintaining accuracy and editorial style.
- Demonstrated skills with developing story ideas and suggesting ideas for projects.
- A team-player attitude.
