Safe, reliable, and sustainable drinking water, wastewater and stormwater underpins the health and wellbeing of all our communities. The Government has undertaken to support councils to address substantial water infrastructure deficit by providing a new range of structuring and financing tools for water services.

**Join us as we support the Government and councils to implement Local Water Done Well.**

The pace and profile of the Local Water Done Well programme means you’ll work as a member of a handpicked team across a range of challenging policy issues critical to implementation - spanning areas of legislation, economic regulation, infrastructure planning and investment, and system stewardship and monitoring. The knowledge and experience you’ll gain in contributing to this high-profile programme will have the power to transform your career.

The work is ground-breaking, vital and incredibly visible both within Government, and in the wider community. You’ll know what you’re doing matters - it’s meaningful and will and make a real difference to the economic, health and social wellbeing of New Zealanders for years to come.

Right now, we’re seeking a talented Senior Policy Analyst.

Join us on a fixed term role through until mid-2026 working within the water services policy and stewardship team. With extensive previous experience in policy advice and policy processes, you will be able to work in an agile manner to provide policy support for work across a range of policy issues related to water services reform.

This includes support for the development of policy and legislation, including resolution of policy issues raised through the drafting and Parliamentary process, at the same time as implementing change.

Familiarity with the machinery of government some experience in the development of regulatory policy and the ability to write about complex issues clearly and succinctly are highly desired.
