**Salary**: PSA set 10-11 dependant on experience ( $108,058 to $111,719)
**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
Senior Neuropsychologist to join a busy neurology department at WRH. You will be responsible for diagnostic neuropsychological testing on hospital referred patients under the age of 65 presenting with a wide range of conditions. In addition, to testing, you would be expected to provide treatment advise and refer to appropriate services. Depending on FTE and work capacity you may be required to do some counselling on neurology patients. Part of the role is to provide a support and advise for general psychologists who undertake some neuro - testing.
**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**
The Neurology department provides a regional/tertiary service for complex neurological conditions for diagnosis and specialist management. It comprises a busy outpatient based service at Wellington Hospital but includes outreach clinics to regional hospitals. Inpatient care is provided for stroke and other neurology patients..
Neurophysiology services provided include EEGs, NCS, EMG, EP and testing of the vestibular system. Neuropsychology services and Liaison Psychiatry provide diagnostic support, advice and counselling for Wellington region and to tertiary referrals as required.
Neurology SCN and CNS Nurses provide support for both outpatient and IP services providing patient education and specialised patient focus expertise. Nursing staff also contribute to current research trial as required.
**Moū - About you**
- Minimum of four years post qualification experience as Registered Clinical Psychologist
- Minimum of two years work experience involving adult neuropsychology is desirable
The person in this role ideally should be keen to participate in teaching and MDT within the department and contribute to general psychology teaching / mentoring within the region.
