Our Client has requirements for a Food Quality and Compliance Lead in the Manawatū area for a permanent position.

**About the role**
- Lead and mentor the quality team to ensure a culture of customer focus and continuous improvement.
- Conduct External Food Safety Audits.
- Conduct necessary quality inspections using proper equipment and techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspection results.
- Conduct statistical analysis on select processes and report findings.
- Assist with problem solving -root cause analysis -corrective actions.
- Ensure incoming materials are in compliance to required specifications.
- Ensure outgoing products are in compliance with required specifications and regulations.
- Ensure production personnel are following proper procedure for ongoing production.
- Assist with quality system documentation, including writing, reviewing and issuing documents.
- Monitor production processing via random QA audits.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including MPI.
- Review, process and approve deviations, non-conforming product and corrective actions.
- Assist with the maintenance of the Food control Plan.
- Train others in quality systems and documentation, at shop floor level.
- Assist with risk assessments, monitoring and maintaining the Health and Safety Plan.
- Assist with Product Development and Improvement including implementation of validation protocols and factory.

- Conduct proactive hazard identification and report any accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Assist with the ordering of consumables for the operations of the production facility.

**What you will need to have**:

- 5-10 years experience working in compliance in the food processing industry.
- Tertiary qualifications in Food Science/Microbiology, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Have a can-do attitude.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Applications.
- Great attention to detail.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (early morning, later afternoon or weekend work) based on task and program demands.
- Health and safety focused.
- Understand "kiwi culture".
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Will be required to have a clean Ministry of Justice background check.
