The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Community and Whānau Wellbeing team as a **Team Leader - Health Promotion & Smokefree.** **The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, operational management and planning for the team in order to deliver high quality, culturally responsive and equitable smokefree services to Māori and other priority communities. In addition, the Team Leader will manage population health improvement and equity projects/programmes and strategies including; policy, planning and health promotion leadership to support health improvement and achieve health equity in Hawke’s Bay.

- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Extensive experience in health (ideally 5-10 years plus)
- Extensive experience in policy or planning
- Leadership experience in community engagement and co-design
- Experience in community and stakeholder engagement
- Role model, with high degree of maturity, stability and self-confidence
- Previous experience in staff management
- Experience in leading or being part of delivering Māori targeted programmes.
- Experience in developing and facilitating training and education
- Experience developing new processes and procedures
- Monitoring programme performance and outcomes
- A personal commitment to and evidence of on-going professional development and continuous quality improvement.
